چکیده

Abstract An unsteady local heat transfer in an air synthetic non-steady-state jet impingement onto a flat plate with variation of the Reynolds number, nozzle-to-plate distance and pulses frequency is experimentally numerically studied. Measurements averaged pulsating at stagnation point are conducted using flux sensor. The axisymmetric URANS method stress model used for numerical simulations. For values transfer, zones maximum instantaneous value coefficient identified. increases relatively low distances ( H / d ≤ 4). decreases high from orifice target surface. increase number causes reduction transfer.

Heat Transfer of an Impinging Jet on a Plane Surface

Abstract—A cold, thin film of liquid impinging on an isothermal hot, horizontal surface has been investigated. An approximate solution for the velocity and temperature distributions in the flow along the horizontal surface is developed, which exploits the hydrodynamic similarity solution for thin film flow. The approximate solution may provide a valuable basis for assessing flow and heat transf...

Review of fluid flow and convective heat transfer within rotating disk cavities with impinging jet

Fluid flow and convective heat transfer in rotor-stator configurations, which are of great importance in different engineering applications, are treated in details in this review. The review focuses on convective heat transfer in predominantly outward air flow in the rotor-stator geometries with and without impinging jets and incorporates two main parts, namely, experimental/theoretical methodo...

Convective heat transfer predictions in an axisymmetric jet impinging onto a flat plate using an improved k-ω model

The paper shows the results of the convective heat transfer prediction in turbulent axisymmetric jets impinging onto a flat plate using the newest version (2006) of the k-ω turbulence model of Wilcox [1]. Improvements to the heat transfer predictions are obtained in the strongly strained flow regions with the impingement invariant proposed by Manceau [2] together with the F1 function proposed b...

Prediction of turbulent heat transfer in impinging jet geometries

This chapter summarizes the current knowledge on the numerical prediction of turbulent impinging jet flows. The predictive capabilities of numerical models are evaluated by careful comparison with experimental fluid flow and heat transfer data. Turbulent fluctuations in the velocity field are mathematically modelled using the Reynolds Averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) methodology. Turbulence is ass...

Modeling of Heat Transfer in a Mist/Steam Impinging Jet

The addition of mist to a flow of steam or gas offers enhanced cooling for many applications, including cooling of gas turbine blades. The enhancement mechanisms include effects of mixing of mist with the gas phase and effects of evaporation of the droplets. An impinging mist flow is attractive for study because the impact velocity is relatively high and predictable. Water droplets, less than 1...
